INTRODUCING THE MINISTRY OF DAVID SEDACA
David Sedaca is a Jewish believer in Jesus and has been a leader of the messianic Jewish movement worldwide for the last 40 years. He was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, and both his parents were second-generation Argentinians. He grew up in a messianic Jewish home and because of his parents' ministry, especially in the relocation of Holocaust survivors; he grew up in different countries in Europe, South and North America.
He received his BA "Cum Laude" in Psychology from Harvard University. After a successful career in the automobile corporate world, he received a call to full-time ministry. He attended Biola University and continued at the Baptist Theological Seminary in Buenos Aires. David Sedaca studied Judaism in New York and continued Jewish studies at the School of Middle East Studies of the University of Belgrano.
Having served as pastor in four different evangelical churches, David became fully involved in Jewish ministries, although he continued serving as pastor and Messianic Jewish Rabbi. He served as Canadian and Latin American Director for Chosen People Ministries. He is member of the Board of Directors of several religious organizations, Bible Institutes, seminaries, and Christian organizations in the US, Canada, England, Norway and Israel.
David Sedaca has been professor of Homiletics and Old Testament in several seminaries and served as Director of the Bible Center Training for Pastors. He has been guest lecturer in Universities and seminaries in United States, Canada, South America, Israel and Europe, and his writings and articles are published regularly in different theological journals and Christian magazines around the world. His dynamic preaching and profound knowledge of the Bible from a Jewish perspective has made him a much sought-after speaker around the world. He has recently joined the faculty of the Moriah International Center, the short term program of Hebrew University of Jerusalem’ Rothberg International School, where he teaches courses on Judaism and Messianic Judaism to graduate students.
David served for 25 years as Executive Secretary and CEO of the International Messianic Jewish Alliance, formerly known as The International Hebrew Christian Alliance, which is the worldwide fellowship of Jewish believers in Jesus, and the umbrella organization for messianic Jewish organizations. Until recently he was the president of the Union of American Messianic Jewish Believers; the fellowship of Jewish believers from different churches and messianic Jewish congregations.
After 25 years as leader of the International Messianic Jewish Alliance, in 2004 David rejoined Chosen People Ministries as Vice President and works in the overall development of the ministry, both in the US and in around the world. His wife Julia, served as Office Manager of the International Headquarters in New York City, and continues to assist in that capacity.
Since 2016 David Sedaca has been Permanent Visiting Scholar of the Moriah International Center, a short term program of Hebrew University's Rothberg International School, Israel. He lectures on Jewish Literature, the Gospels and Pauline Epistle as Jewish Literature, and Biblical Archaeology.
